Intellectual Property Library of Trinidad and Tobago

The Intellectual Property Library of Trinidad and Tobago was established in December 2017 by the Intellectual Property Office of Trinidad and Tobago (IPO). It provides the resources necessary for education in intellectual property and innovation. Please see this document for more details.

The IPO Library will be accessible primarily to members of staff and would also cater to members of the public with an interest in intellectual property such as academics, researchers, IP professionals.

MISSION

The mission of the Intellectual Property Library of Trinidad and Tobago is to provide access to professional resources needed to meet the informational, educational and research needs of the Intellectual Property Office, in alignment with its strategic goals and objectives.

Monday to Thursday – 8:30 am – 3:15 p.m.
Friday 8:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

The Library catalogue is accessible on the stand-alone computer in the Technical Library.

CIRCULATION POLICY

Loan of items of the Intellectual Property Library is restricted to IPO staff only. Publications of the World Intellectual Property Organization is available for loan to stakeholders.

COPYRIGHT POLICY

Photocopying of materials would be allowed in amounts permissible under existing copyright legislation. Consult with library staff for further information.

WIPO DEPOSITORY LIBRARY

In 2017 the IPO was granted depository library status by the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) based in Geneva, Switzerland. As such, WIPO will provide the IPO with annual publications including: books, magazines, CDs, and reports in various topics. The IPO displays these publications at its library. These publications are available and easily accessible to all users of the library, free of charge, during library operating hours. A separate area has been designated at the library for those publications which cover the fields of Patents, Trademarks, Designs, Traditional Knowledge, Treaties, Classifications and Annual Reports.
The list of publications will be updated frequently with regular additions from WIPO. They are also available for short loan to stakeholders.
