Ms. Steffi Mohammed
Ms. Steffi Mohammed holds the position of Trademark System Specialist (Madrid) as a senior trademark examiner in the Trademark Unit, at the Intellectual Property Office, the Ministry of Legal Affairs with over (ten) 10 years of experience.
Ms. Mohammed attained a Bachelors of Arts Degree with Honours in Business Management and completed a Post Graduate Certificate in Business Management in 2012 and 2016 respectively, through the Anglia Ruskin University (UK). Her thesis also focused on “A Critical Evaluation of Brand Value for Businesses in Trinidad and Tobago’s Economic Recession – The Case of Intellectual Property.” She is presently pursuing her Bachelor of Laws Degree. Ms. Mohammed has also completed numerous Distance Learning courses with WIPO in the areas of Trademarks, Industrial designs, Geographical Indications, and IP Management.
She is responsible for examination of national trade mark applications and Madrid or international trade mark applications. Ms. Mohammed also is also heavily involved in public education in various aspects of IP, not limited to trade marks. Ms. Mohammed has represented Trinidad and Tobago at the national and international level at various seminars, webinars and meetings specifically regarding trade mark, branding and the Madrid protocol system.
Ms. Mohammed is also a certified trainer at the National Intellectual Property Training Centre (NIPTC), a unit of the Intellectual Property Office (IPO) of Trinidad and Tobago.
