At the 66th Series of Meetings of the Assemblies of the Member States of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) held from July 8-17, 2025, the Delegation of Trinidad and Tobago stated: “We are proud to announce the registration of the Steelpan, the only musical instrument invented in the 20th century, as a Geographical Indication (GI).”
